Post invasion movement

I cannot figure out what are the rules of movement after invasion.
Sometimes I cannot move at all.
Sometimes I can move two paces or one. Sometimes I can attack, sometimes I cant.
Does it depend on the beach hex? Is it half beach or less than that?
So baciscally how can I tell from looking on the map what can I do after I land?

Depends on terrain, if an enemy is next to you.

Man, i struggle with this too!

The terrain I land on or the terrain I want to move into?
Landing next to the enemy does not always take away operation points
Does it depend on the unit I use to invade? Or just these two thing you mentioned?
