Why can't I attach the HQ with units?
So I took an HQ from north Africa (Platt) and put him in India as I needed to retreat. The HQ can't seem to attach to any of the Indian units. Before you say he's not the same nation as the Indian units.. He is as he has the same logo at the bottom left and same Indicator Sprites as the Indians. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Sorry for no picture as I can't seem to attach the screen shot I took.

If Platt belongs to a Minor power, then it can only control units belonging to that Minor power.

IIRC Platt comes from Sudan - not India. So I believe he'll be unable to attach Indian units.

played hundreds of games. My air never connects right. I know it costs me games/victory.
I'm clueless and cannot learn much new.

Thanks for the reply's, Platt comes from Sudan yes but as you can see he has the same Indicator Sprites (logo) as the Indian units which threw me off. Is there a way to know what units he can control? If any at all? If not ill just use him to boost supply.

I don't think there's a definitive list. Not sure Platt can attach anyone apart from Sudanese units but he is good for boosting supply as you noted.
I believe Indian HQs can attach Malaysian & Burmese units. But UK HQs can't attach Indian units.
Italian HQs can attach the Slovakian Corps.
You often find out by trial & error.

Units of a major power can be commanded only by an HQ of that major power.
Units of a minor power can be commanded by any HQ of a major power or by an HQ of their own minor power.
India is a Major power, so their HQs can command minor powers of their alliance, such as Burmese or Sudanese troops.
Sudan is a minor power, so Platt, as a Sudanese HQ, can only command Sudanese troops (flag doesn't matter, it's about the origin of the unit, but yes the allied symbols can seem a little consufing at times. French and UK troops also look similar at first glance).
The thing about India is actually useful, since India has 2 of the best allied Generals, so you could get them to command a ragtag of British common wealth units, for example Canadians, South Africans, etc, while you leave the real British UK units to be commanded by Lord Gort XD
