Designed when i realized that i needed an Energy/Guided Recon Titan. Frighteningly effective, and its efficiency only goes up when faced by ECM and shields. Extensively tested, and has been a mainstay in my forces. My business manager pilots this Titan when he rides in a recon.
Suffers from creeping overheat if the Pulse Laser is over used. Can fire the GME's until they run out of ammo, and punch and kick, and remain green.

Designed to tear a Titan apart from the inside out. Tough, armored like a brick, heat efficient, and a plain nightmare in close combat. My squad leader pilots this once she graduates to Light Titans. Once took a Medium Titan completely out in one salvo via two successive Vibra Claws to the cockpit.

Has yet to be thoroughly battle tested. However, being a public design, it shows up on the AI side now and again. Has proven to be threat from medium range all the way up to close combat. The pulse lasers will cause overheat if overused, and the Meson Guns tend to run out of ammo at inconvienent times, but still a good solid medium range Titan.

On the Lightning: replace Duralloy armor in RA with Vincinium and remove 1mm of armor from the legs (will not affect armor points) This frees up a little weight that can but used to increase armor values by a couple points.

yeah, I'm finding armor placement is almost an art form.

you can tell the age of my designs by how I place my armor.

Lightning was only my third or fourth designed Titan.

Still and all, it remains my favorite, and one I steadfastly will not make public.

26 points of damage, and abilities that improve the more the Jock does, plus the ability to tangle with Light and Medium Titans with some degree of sucess.


I am finding that GME's are one of the more evil little weapons. Almost everything that would normally give you defense against being shot at merely makes you get pounded harder. Plus, they are an excellent training weapon for Jocks you will be assigning GMH's later.

I'm starting to play around with the Driller (I renamed it Wolverine, sorry I just didn't like Driller, forgive me? ) Want to see if I like it better then my Sabertooth design. The Sabertooth is a little light on the armor and tends to run a little to hot in CC.

Anyway, I was wondering about the engine. It allows you to swivel, and recharge CC while running, but thats about it. Is that worth the 2 extra tons that could be use elsewhere? JJ or a better BC maybe? You've played it the most, so you have the best insight, how often is swiviling and recharging CC weapons on the run, coming into play?

Heh, Wolverine was the "concept" behind the weapon.

About the design, a mm in the CBT can be removed, and if the engine is reduced to 1 a DCS 1 can be added by reducing CBT armor to 17. Just another thought.

Actually, that is a good idea. I have no idea why I gave it a Engine 2. Perhaps figuring it would be in close combat a lot, it would be nice if it could take damage to the engine and keep on going. I don't know. I'll definitely have to change it.

And a Light titan with a DCS would be a good thing.

(the heat Reg is also probably a size larger than absolutely needs to be. but, in this case, I'll leave it be. Being able to contimously fire and remain green is a good thing.)

When you drop the engine a size you will free up a slot and with a little swapping around of componets (a Meson in each clest) you can replace the Duralloy on the RT with Vincinium.. frees up almost 1/2 ton. I used it to Duralloy the CBT after installing a DCS.
