SC Games Graphics Quality on a new PC?

Hi - I recently bought a new inexpensive HP PC to run Windows 11 and was surprised to see that the graphics quality for this game, and the other SC titles, was no better on my new PC, compared to my 11 year old PC. In fact, the game graphics seem slightly less sharp on the new laptop, even though other images from the web were noticeably sharper. I also notice that this game on the new PC offers more video settings than the old PC, but changing the video settings only narrows the size of the game on my laptop screen and does not improve the resolution.

Is the image quality of the game "fixed" and can't be sharpened by running it on a more modern laptop? Grateful for readers advice. If that's the case, I might as well stick with my old Windows 10 PC (which I only use to play these game titles) and return the new one.

Michael

Does your new laptop have a larger screen? Getting a larger monitor did seem to improve image resolution for me even without a new PC. But, then the old one was an antique by the time I replaced it.

Thanks for the suggestion. The new laptop has the same 15.6 inch screen as the old one. But I notice that the screen images improves significantly if I reduce the resolution to 100%, rather than the 125% recommended by Settings. I am inclined to act on your advice and get a different mode with a bigger screen, and work with that at 100%.

That and a larger external monitor. 32"or 40" off a laptop with external wired or wireless keyboard will give you a eureka moment. Its like a whole new ball game. ;)
