PL-15 CEC issue

I believe there is a database error in the PL-15 command datalink setting.

For many PLAAF AEW and fighters, they have a Comm/Datalink for "PL-15 Command Datalink" However, in the weapon PL-15 or PL-15C; their comm/datalink is "PL-15 Missile Datalink [Two-Way]". This subtle difference render the PL-15 CEC in-operable.

When compared with AIM-120, the fighters, AEW and AIM-120 all share the same 'AIM-120 Command Datalink [Two-Way]' datalink. CEC works perfectly so that fighters don't need to activate their radar and rely on AEW's radar to guide the AIM-120 to targets.

When I tested PLAAF PL-15 with AEW (KJ3000), the radar on PL-15 launching aircraft (J-10C) becomes active even with AEW is closer to the targets. The targets are within 50nm of AEW with clear LOS. Datalink cannot be established between the PL-15 and the AEWs. The only establish datalinks are those between the PL-15 and radar active fighter.

I think both PL-15 and PL-15C should have their Comm/Datalink values be changed to 'PL-15 Command Link' or all those aircrafts should have their 'PL-15 Command Datalink' be changed to "PL-15 Missile Datalink [Two-Way]".

Build 1676, DB3000 v512

Everything is WAD. The datalink type is what matters, and they're all "PL-15 Weapon Links". Command datalinks have more channels then a missile datalink in order to facilitate controlling multiple missiles. The Two-Way means that the missile can communicate back to the firing platform, along with receiving updates. You'll also see One-Way on some weapons, which means the missile can receive updates but can't transmit back to the firing platform.

Keep in mind it has taken the USN decades to perfect CEC. The real-time handoff of fire control is not the same as sharing guidance data between aircraft and then passing that on to the missile.
