If I understand correctly naval units do supply interdiction regardless of whether they are in raid or fleet mode. However it seems that night move prevents them from supply interdiction.
Can someone please confirm it?

i have never understood night move, what it does, or how to make a unit do it

so i am interested in this thread

Night moves mean air can't attack you on the enemy turn.

It mostly works well in the Pacific. But I added it in as a base move in Europe.

Okay, if night move has no effect on supply interdiction then is it possible that sometimes supply interdiction just does not happen? I though so far that it is always attempted just sometimes 0 supplies are destroyed. But this case there was no supply interdiction entry in reports.

If your supply level is zero you don't impact supply interdiction. That could be your case.

With night move you have to start from a port so I doubt that I had zero supply.

I don't know if you left the unit out for more than one turn. Once you turn to day mode you should be able to interdict supply

I rephrase it: I moved a ship from Crete to one hex away from Tobruk with a night move to interdict supply to Tobruk. But there was no message of any supply interdiction at Tobruk.

It should interdict after the 2nd turn when the night move icon is removed and it turns into a day mission.

night moves do not interdict supply.
