Supply Question

Hi everyone. I am just playing my first game Warplan:Europe and making my way through the learning curve. Right now I am wondering about how supply shortages affect units. I saw a tutorial video that explained that if a unit has no supplies it will disband after a few turns. I now have cut off the French at the Maginot Line, but their units just stick around. I have just been ending my turns to see what's happening but they seem unaffected, even though it's been months that they have been cut off now. Anyone has any idea what's happening?

Metz is a supply source, they will never run out of supply.

The manual states that every 10 or 10+ hex is a supply source but that is not always true. Leningrad is not supply source on the other hand there is a 1 hex in Italy that is indeed a supply source. Unfortunately you cannot see what is supply source for your opponent - but if you start a hotseat game you can check all supply sources and take note.

Also, what I learned the hard way: as opposed to other war games it is not enough to surround enemy with your territory, you physically have to cut the supply with your troops because even if a hex is your colour the supply can get through if it is sufficiently close.

Totally depends. You need to cut access to supply.

Is there a way to find out where supply is coming from? Sorry, total noob at this game.

Any urban with 10+ production if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I looked at the rules.
