Guys, does anyone have access to Patch 1.04 Beta?
I've checked the forums here and on ageod, and all the links are dead.
I'd really appreciate your help.

After applying this patch, extract the quickfix in the game folder, overwrite the files.

There was a third one, fixed some problems but created other. However chemkid fixed it. You can download the third and its fix in this thread.

From what I read in the txt file of the "last Patch":

GS 1.00 Unofficial Bug Fix, To End All Wars

Patch corrects bugs, omissions, and oversights. It also adds the “Leader Graphic Mod” by
lukasberger, samba_liten, bamak, and khanti. The Leader Graphic Mod has been revised such
that no graphic images will be overwritten. Added strings have not been translated and
are in English only. These local strings are lines 10086 through 10101.

To install, extract the EAW folder in the zip file over the EAW folder in your installation
directory and accept any changes to files.

Quick Fix (EAW 1.04 (Beta Patch 1.03 – May 2019))
GS 1.00 Unofficial Bug Fix

This version will be known as

But there is one last step needed, the scenario files uploaded by chemkid, overwrite because GS patch creates a problem, as is described in the thread linked above..

Nikel, could you give me a link to these SCENARIO files, or explain to me where to find them, which ones, and how to install them (I understand that probably to the Scenario directory:).
I'd appreciate your help.

I have another question.
While searching for these Scenario files (you found them faster) , I came across some more fixes (also by "chemkid") on the AGEOD forum.
- CP_TAR_fix
- EE MON fix.
I don't know if they're also necessary.
They're on the AGEOD forum, in the "EAW Technical support / Aide technique" section, as the first two topics.

For all those who don't want to bother searching and browsing the Matrix and AGEOD forums, I've created a package of all these patches here:

By the way, I wanted to say something I remembered. I was wondering where I knew the nickname "chemkid" from. I remembered that probably a dozen or so years ago, and even later (because I often return to this game), I downloaded a lot of stuff from "chemkid" for the best strategy game of all time: War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition.

You may try them if you want, but not as important.

What should the game version say?

After doing all the updates, mine says: "EAW 1.04 (Beta Patch 1.03 – May 2019), but should it depict the "with GS 1.00"?

(Because I read in the changelog that "This version will be known as EAW 1.04 (Beta Patch 1.03 – May 2019) with GS 1.00")


Edit/PS: Also, in your opinion, is it worth it over the last official patch?

If you do not see this, it means you did not extract GS patch correctly.


All of them fix issues in the game, so it is better to install them.

Must have skipped something before, because I redid the Quickfix, then the GS 1.00, and then the scen fix, and now it shows the correct version - I think that is okey, or do I have to do an entire clean install from the start due to doing the incorrect order previously?

No, there is no EAW folder within EAW folder. I think I just hastely "missed" a step (like doing 2-3-5)

I think I know what happened, but installation of the initial 1.04 beta, is a bit confusing: Installing onto the steam folder, when I choose the folder of the game as the installation destination (...Steam../common/to End all Wars), it adds a folder of "to End all wars", with executables and all, within the game folder. So I guess the destination folder for installing the beta patch, should be the parent folder of the game's folder, not the game folder itself (?)

Not steam user, so not sure.

But in the game folder I only see 3 folders:

/EAW

/Manuals

/Autoplay

EAW.exe is in the root folder.

A second \To End All Wars folder should not be there

Many thanks, yes, I installed wrongly the initial beta patch so I need clean install. For some reason I had the "1.04 beta version depicted despite that.
