Hi,
I recently moved the 2nd PA Constabulary Divn into Laoag as the Japanese weren't coming into the mountains to fight me & had no troops there. I captured the town with 0 supply and The 2 PA Divn had 0 supply (presumably using the bayonet), but then I became target practice for the Japanese who destroyed at least 115 supply in several air attacks on the Airfield, Port & PA Divn at the beginning of the new turn both Laoag and the 2 PA still had 0 supply, where did this lost supply come from? All the other bases on the Island nares Japan are held or under Japanese control?

How did you "move the 2nd PA Constabulary Divn" to Laoag? Air? Sea? Somewhere else on Luzon?
A screenshot would help.

Hi,
I moved it in "Move" mode in the option screen (it had been pushed into the mountains East of Laog as a result of combat and I couldn't resist the urge to do something with it before it disintegrated like sone Dutch units in islands further South) & it shock attacked the empty base as I forgot to check it's progress as I was going to change it to "combat" mode when it got near.
Regards
David
sorry haven't worked out how to take screen shots yet either.

Supply moves from hex to hex, how much depends on many things. Simply moving into a hex is enough to cause supply to move there.
It's extemely difficult in this game to completely isolate a unit. Basically supply can come from any direction unless there's an enemy unit or the hex side belongs to them. E.g all six side.
The game does not have the ability to take screen shots. You need a separate ap, I use windows snipping tool. Extremly simple. open it, click new, draw a box around the screen area and save.

There is 5-key on keyboard to see how much supply you get, as a percentage.
And monsoon really grinds it down.

Press the windows key and hold it while then pressing the "PRT SC" key, aka print screen. Now you have it copied, then open a program such as Paint and paste the picture there. You can edit it, then save it.
If it crossed water such as a river, it would shock attack unless enough friendly forces had already made it through the same
hexside and were still in that hex.

RJ, I use the PrtScr key without the Windows key and it captures the screen to the clipboard just the same. A bit simpler if you are trying to capture a combat animation moment.

How do you know you lost exactly 115 supply? The combat report only has "supply hits" for air raids.

When the Fog Of War (FOW) is off, you see the supply and fuel losses inflicted on the enemy.

Hi,
Yes as it's my first game I left FoW off to see if it made any difference, but I have not started a second yet. I'm also using "historical" AI & turn cycle 1.

Looking at the map, I don't see how you could have 115 supplies at Laogag.
Either you shipped supplies there (Laogag has a port) or used transport planes to fly some supplies there.
If you did neither, than I have no idea where the supplies came from.

Hi,
I had 2 Sub-Transport TF's (8 subs total) unloading c.200 supplies at Cebu, I think the in game local transport you don't see moved the supplies all the way to Laoag, as supplies at Cebu didn't seem to increase. No planes in range & my AMC carrying supplies was sunk by air attack just short of Cebu.
I can't seem to get my sub transports to load either fuel or troops though, is this normal?

David

I don't think you can load fuel onto subs.
In order to bo loaded onto a sub, an LCU should be in Move mode.

Paratroops can be loaded on a sub in Combat mode and invade on that mode. Strangely, commandos cannot!

Further, to load troops onto sub, the sub has to be in its own TF. This was a restriction brought in a long tome ago, can't remember why.

I think it was because players were making unrealistic landings with large multi-sub TFs.

I changed that in a mod I did 12 years ago. Raiders and commandos could load and not Paratroops....GP
