Sim won't start then crashes game and then requires reinstall?

Sorry, did you already try to reinstall and this is still happening or are you asking? If you're on Steam I would try to verify files before reinstalling just incase

So far I have reinstalled three times.
Once reinstalled CMO works for a few iterations then I save a game, exit the game.
When I go back to run the game it won't boot up again.

It's not on Steam.

That's a tricky one. Can you describe the exact sequence of steps that leads to the crash? Please walk us through it in detail.

Bizarre so far:

So you install 1728 and it works fine.
A. I use some of my scenarios and play a real scenario (God of War being the last one but it happens with any) and then save a game and exit. I turn off my computer.

B. The next time I try and boot the game I click on the desktop shortcut and it does not work.

C. So I go into the Matrix folder find the application and run it from there, it works. I save and log out, shut down the computer.

D. I go back into CMO and then the same thing happens again B.C and I have to go into the folder and click on the actual application and it begins to boot up, but the dialogue box about the game loading just hangs up and I wait and wait - nothing happens.

It is odd as I can see something message wise flash up then vanish as the 1728 tries to open.

I have just now gone into the Steam version and there are no problems,

So I have then gone into the Matrix version and its opened normally, which moments before I booted the Steam version was hanging up??

The exception log generated is the same as any other normal boot.

I don't use the computer for several days at a time so cannot figure if this is something not CMO related just update related?

Also sorry for being dim but how do you verify the files as I wonder if its some LUA malfunction in one of my scenarios?

I tend to get some of the same ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") occasionally while playing some Northern Fury scenarios but without the game crashing after the pop up window launching. I just press ignore the issue and continue. This is why I have not bothered identifying a pattern.

Same as before. playing God Of War then saved it, tried to run CMO again just now and its frozen on the boot screen.
Been waiting now for ten minutes and nothing.

Totally weird, just failed to load three times on both PC and Steam - tried again and it works????

Are you using the same scenarios? Do you think/feel a specific scenario might be origin?

It doesn't seem to make any difference what the last scenario saved was -

I have used the OLD GRUDGES and God of War and three of my own and the same phenomenon - some times works then does not, Very strange.

Yes, that sounds like a lua issue in an Event condition
