[WAD][1728.2] Javelin cannot detect despite LOS tool saying otherwise

In the attached file notice the javelin teams in north Estonia that are coming across an mechanised attack. Despite the the terrain is flat and the LOS tool clearly showing that the target should be visible, the game believes that the target has not been detected when ordering manual fire (see screen capture and save file for reproduction)

The "Effects of Terrain Type" is enabled for this scenario, the javelin team is deep in the woods while its target is as well. If you move the javelin team out of the forest or the target gets closer into the open they can fire

I though the LOS tool considers the terrain effects when enabled. Thanks for the clarification.

The LOS tool cannot take the terrain type and other factors into account because they are outside its "purview". The LOS tool effectively tells you "yes, from this point over here I can see, unobstructed by terrain, that spot in the wooded area over there".

Whether the sensor on the spot "over here" can actually detect the unit hidden in the woods "over there" will depend on a whole other host of factors (Can the sensor see through woods? How conspicuous is the unit being hidden? Are they stationary or moving? etc. etc.) that the LOS tool is agnostic about.
