Best East Front 41-45 Scenario

recently bought the game and looking for advice on best East Front 41-45 scenario playing as Axis human vs Soviet PO.
Tried Directive 21 and am finding the floating battles button doesn't seem to work - which is frustrating in a scenario of this size - useful to be able to see what battles are already planned. or can someone explain why the planned battles aren't showing
EF 41-45 has equipment errors - PzKwIV H as part of Rumanian armour in 41 for example
TGW - any good? though there seem to be an excess of Engineer units - also no HQ's
Any suggestions pls?

Fire in the East V5.0 is big fun but no po so you have to play solitaire or with an opponent via pbem.

thanks - have had a look at the first one but think the scale is too 'high' also get a headache with the map colour LOL
Have loaded Russo-German War 41-45 - thought it was basically Directive 21 but for a Russian human player against Axis PO
I would play Directive 21 but not being able to see planned battles is a pain (yes i have clicked the button - many times) - is this a bug in the mod or is there something i can change?
Gonna try TGW - have loaded v1.14 and reading in the forums the lack of German HQ's was deliberate though i'm not sure how this affects supply.

EF 41-45 - don't worry about the rare error detail - it's really well designed and a lot of stuff under the hood that makes it very challenging. It punches fast and hard.
I like TGW - it's interesting that it's the same scale at the 1970s board game Drang Nach Osten/Unentschieden but you dont need a pingpong table for the map and the detail and playability is just much better - once again proving TOAW is a stellar system;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drang_Nach_Osten!
I'm a huge fan of Russo-German War 'JanRoss' Variant (I think I'm president of its fan club). It's huge but plays fairly fast once you get going.
Maybe learn the system playing TGW to then jump to Russo-German. It'd suck to be desperately fighting to take Smolensk unsupplied in November 1941... weeks of your time lost when you realize you didn't understand how to use everything properly und alles ist kaput.
You can change map colors, etc. There's a whole section on modding TOAW to your tastes. A lot of people here have done excellent work with aesthetics.
Read the AARs here on the forum to get a feel. It's a great forum.

Thanks everyone - i took a deep breadth and dived into Directive 21 EF 41-45 - its huge but says it specifically designed for Axis human against Soviet PO. Now i've started it am getting over the huge scale and getting into it - also with hopefully the good PO i can dive in and out when i have time / want to
