Inquiry: SC WWII: War in the Pacific vs. WitP:AE Comparison

Good morning!
My question is to those players who may have played this game and War In the Pacific: Admiral's Edition, what are the major differences or improvements? Is there something from WitP:AE that you miss?
- WiTP is mostly spreadsheet warfare, but I'm seeing more icon based combat? How does combat work with stacking? Is it more WitP: AE or more Panzer Korps?
- Is this scenario based, or is there a campaign that covers the India to West Coast, from Dec 7 onward?
- How important\details is logistics and supply chain management in this game?
Any responses appreciated, and I MAY have followup questions LOL.
(I am interested in this game, but I always prefer recommendations NOT provided from the algorithm.)

This game does indeed come with a grand
1941 Day of Infamy campaign covering the conflict in the Pacific, Indian Ocean and South East Asia eastwards to the west coast of the USA, from 7th December 1941 onwards, as well as plenty more scenarios - 12 in total if you include our Rise and Fall of an Empire DLC.

Given that I own Witp-AE, SC-WitP, and Panzer Corps 2...
SC-WW2-WitP is much more Panzer Corps. Strat Cmd series is much more beer-n-pretzels wargaming tha WitP-AE. If WitP-AE is a "10" in complexity, I'd say that SC series is a "5". Given all the nuances (like truely understanding supply and combat rules, I would take SC to "6.5". That being said, the advantage of a 6.5 if that SC series are far more functional and you can find yourself at 2am thinking, "I can do 1 more turn..." (you can turn around turns much faster in SC-series than in WitP-AE).

Yes, multiple scenarios. There is a grand campaign, and/or some that are specific battles like Iwo Jima and Kalkin Gol (on different maps with smaller scale).
- How important\details is logistics and supply chain management in this game?
Supply is very important in SC-series. It is NOT the minutia of of WitP-AE like Resources, Oil, Engines, Frames, etc. As you hit dead-on for WitP-AE as "spread-sheet" -> Yep. That was/is actually one of my disappointments of WitP-AE is that, there's no option in WitP-AE to NOT get bogged down with engines and air-frames for Japan. For SC-series, supply moves out from supply centers (cities and/or HQs), and the farther away you get, the less supply you have, the less effective you are (that's the simple version). So supply is very important in SC-series to your ability to execute combat ops, no/low supply = you're combat ineffective. By WitP-AE standards, SC-series supply is fairly easy. It'd say SC-series supply generally aligns with the with what many of us old-school-grognards are used to in strategic level board-games.
