Scenario Challenge

Thought it might be fun to post out scenario challenges. I have finished 5 CSV scenarios this past week, 2 decisive defeats, 1 minor defeat, 1 draw, and 1 Victory. When I play I don't look at the victory status until after the scenario is over. Don't like to play to the victory screen. I just follow orders as best I can to complete the mission and get surprised at the end with how I did. The scenario I'm posting I thought I had done better than it ended up. So after cussing out Jason under my breath

thought I'd post it as a challenge. I knew I wasn't near major victory status, but I sure thought I was in minor Victory or draw status. I have an end game screen shot but no spoilers. The scenario is only 15 turns long. Only condition is no looking at the Victory status until the end, beside it's more fun that way. Hope others will post some challenges. Again, hats off to Jason and Crossroads, great job on the game.

Curious how far west you made it? I thought I was making good time. I lost one objective, when I pulled a unit back but don't think that would of change the outcome to much. Think a Major Victory is possible?

Only made it half way through, but gained some EPs for "Holding area x for n turns" and destroying a VC company.
A major victory? Maybe by tweaking the Lua file

Looks like we made it the same distance, but I gave back Lam-Loc(2) and you inflicted way more casualties.
New Challenge- Tense scenario, I made a big mistake, cost me at least a minor victory.
A minor shouldn't be a problem

That's a doozy of a scenario.
I'm a mean SOB.

The scenario challenge is a cool idea!
Notice the fact that the scenario briefing tells us that the ground is "dry", despite the 21 inches of rain

! Now
that's Vietnam for you

That looks like a job well done. I'll try and get to this scenario on the weekend. I read Crossroads notes, seems like the special markers are currently visible under regular FOW, which is the default I believe. Might be worth waiting for the next beta or change to extreme FOW for any scenarios we play. Funny thing is I noticed that right away with the first scenario I played when I jumped back into the game, guess I just chalked it up to excellent intel.

Hey budd, regarding markers and regular FOW, they are not visible outside LOS in JTCS, and they were not visible as late as with ME 2.00. ME 2.30 that updated Middle East towards to latest at the time Vietnam 1.30 code baseline (which in turn introduced Side Awareness to hex contents) broke it.
I am mentioning Middle East, as I was fixing a Lua bug in SAM Hunting scenario from the Yom Kippur war. Although you could not see the enemy units let alone SAMs there in the desert, each and every SAM position was marked with an "X" of a Improved Position marker. The whole idea of that particular scenario was broken to a level it was unplayable. I mean it is not a hunt when you know where they are to begin with.
I am fixing that bug with this release.
Note that they are still easier to have become visible under regular FOW in comparison to Enhanced FOW where in some cases - depending on terrain - need to enter or assault the hex itself to see what is in there. Let alone if you opt for Enhanced Spotting, which as the rule name implies, brings further algorithms to spotting / reveal rules.

Thanks for the reply Crossroads.
See below. Should I be able to see the markers? This is the start of Blue Dragons Fight Back . All the markers are outside of my LOS. Unless I'm mis-understanding something I shouldn't be able to see the markers

Certainly, budd, keep those comments coming!
That is under regular FOW, right? No, you should not see them, it sort of ruins the whole regular FOW setting doesn't it. That is what I am fixing.

Tiên-lên! - Battle of Tu Vu
That was fun! The Vietnamese losses accumulated towards the later turns as they kept assaulting the French positions from a position of having disruptions around and less men to assault. The event points also racked up as I was able to withdraw to objectives, and to objectives alone. It looked all rather grim for rather a long time, until towards the very end.
I do like these early scenarios.
