Auto-Disband Bug?

Is there a known auto-disband bug?

I had 4 5-boat sub task forces I was sending from Pearl Harbor to Lahaina for refitting and had auto=disband set so they'd disband and be ready to refit. When my turn was over the mouse-over showed 20 SS at the port yet when I looked at the port there were no subs. Tracker also showed all the subs at Lahaina.

I decided to re-do the turn and I'm keeping them at Pearl Harbor to refit.

I just want to know if there is a known bug or if it was a combination of the auto-disband and having the upgrade flag set to yes.

Auto-disband usually is set for the home base. If you did not set the TFs with a Home Base of Lahaina, they would just return to PH and disband.
That said, the bug that shows the subs at Lahaina when you can't see them there could be related to the refit. Refits that do not require a shipyard still need to have a large enough port to take on the job. Usually that just means a message that the port cannot do the upgrade. No doubt the game engine is confused.

Pic of Lahaina would help.

Ships in peirside and shipyard do not appear in the anchored ship list (they are not ready for sea) but will be counted as being present in the base (mouseover or base screen).

I've had a bunch of ships going into refit just up and disappear. Here is an example from Vancouver, B.C where I put 4 AM ships in for refit.

Here is the port contents at the beginning of the turn:

And here is after resolving the turn:

As you can see the mouseover does show 5 ships but when I show the port contents 4 are missing AND the "Manage Ships Under Repair" option which is where I'd be able to see them is not available now even though it was at the start of the turn and also does show up in ports where my ships are successfully refitting (that how I either move them out of shipyard into pierside and/or set their priority to low).

Is this a bug or is it something I'M doing without knowing? If I'm doing something wrong please tell me because I don't have much experience with this version of the game and if I'm unintentionally doing something stupid please point it out so I can learn and stop. I'm only at April 1942 and I have about 200+ ships that are due refits.

I had a CL disappear from Adak which is a port 5 without naval support but in Noumea which is also a port 5 but with 40 naval support I have 5 AM ships successfully refitting. I had thought I might just need to send large ships to a port with a shipyard to play it safe but what's happening at Vancouver blew that idea out of the water.

Thanks, in advance, for any assistance/

You have the Mine type vessels selected. There are likely other ships in the port of different type. Try turning on all vessel types and see what is there.

There is no bug.

They are there look at the ship numbers on the right, says 43 in both cases. There was 41/2 active/repair now it's 39/4 so there has been movement from active/repair and it Looks like four of the five AM have gone into repair whilst other ships have left, two of which have gone into upgrade. I don't know full details as the full list of mine ships is not shown.

But the full details don't matter anyway simply because there are no ships under repair requiring management so it won't be displayed. It is, or at least I think it is, only shown if there are ships to move between pier, shipyard etc. Use Ships under repair.

As to why, none are damaged prior to entering refit and the refit itself does not require any shipyard size. This implies it is done pierside and therefore does not require any management. E.g. Moving to a repairship/shipyard.

Okay you were correct.

But I'm still confused why it seems one port only shows the ships through the ships under repair while another port under (as far as I can tell) the same circumstances shows them under the manage ships under repair.

Manage allows you to choose how a ship is repaired if it has hany kind od damage. The other is a list of ships under repair that are not immediately ready to sail.
