Industry cost

Hi Guys
Playing as Japs
Can someone remember me what is the TOTAL cost of in creasing 1 single capacity in light Industry ?
I think is at least 1000 supplies
The question then is why to incrase the light Industry capacity if you never recover the cost

On the whole, expanding Light Industry is rarely justified. However, it can be viable in places that produce a lot of resources and take a long time to come under Allied bombardment or occupation like Manchukuo or Sakhalin thus vindicating the investment. Expanding LI at Fusan can help direct more supply there for trans-shipment to Japan.

It costs 100 supply and 10 manpower and 10 HI points to expand (lay the foundation) for a new point of LI production. Then that point has to be "repaired" (constructed) and that costs another 1000 supply so the total supply cost is 1100. Given enough resources it will produce 1 point of supply per day so the supply payback takes almost exactly 3 years.
Japan has lots of resources on Hokkaido and some on Sakhalin but it costs fuel to bring the resources to Japan, and fuel is more critical than supply in the early game. Then there is the demand on shipping for the expansion during the first six months and feeding the garrisons after that.
The best a player can do is seek a good balance early on (some ships hauling resources to Honshu and the rest taking supply to the troops) and plan a retraction of the perimeter when Allied power starts kicking in the door. After six months at the first retraction perimeter, be ready to retract again, and have lots of good fighters to protect Japan's industries.

You really want the resources at Fusan and increasing the Light Industry there is one way to increase the demand which brings the resources there.
In the editor, the cost can be reduced but it is 1000 to repair the industry but there is a supply cost of 100 just to plan the expansion, so the total cost is 1100.

Ranger - You are well informed...Where the editor can LI cost be changed, I would like to see it
Also, do you know if you can amend the Manchukuo garrison requirements??

I don't know how but some people have done so. I suggest that you look in the modding section.

LI is device 527 in the Editor. The parameters for LI production are in there but not for expansion/repairs.
So I looked under "Scenario" , "Locations" and "AI Data" but could not find anything there about repairing LI.
I suspect RJ was conflating the LI production data (which can be changed) with the repairs. Easy to do at our age!

I believe that LST changed the industry cost in at least one mod of his design.

Yes, ok, but how - I see nothing in the editor, and agree repair of LI should be max 500.
