Greetings fellow gamers and grognards,
My name is Christopher Buck and I've been playing historical games, in one form or another, since the late 60s, beginning with the original AH Guadacanal. I've been playing computers wargames since 1984, first game was SSI's 'Ambush', and have watched this form of wargames transform from units represented by letters and terrain laid out with X's, to the beautiful graphics of today's games.
I've been away from wargames for nearly two years now, mainly because I was busy beta-testing for a software company on a sports related sim. Now that I've broken ties with this company I am wanting to get back into my all-time favorite hobby. I'd also be very interested in helping with any form of playtesting that Matrix Games may need. I have an extensive library of World War II reference material, some dating from the early 1970s and now out-of-print. I also failed to mention that I was also a playtester for TAHGC in the mid-70s.
Once I've d/l'd everything I need to play SPWaW...I am sure that I'll have questions concerning that game but will address them in the appropriate forum.
BTW....I'm sorry to see that Wild Bill is leaving the group. I've known of Wild Bill and his work on the Gamer's Net. I wish you all the best Mr. Wilder...you will be missed.
On a final note...please say a prayer for my nephew who is a Radar/Weapons Officer on a Strike Eagle. He was sent out to do his duty. Also please say a prayer for all that died at WTC and the Pentagon and their families....the rescue/recovery workers...those that have lost their jobs because of this attack....and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!
Best regards,
Christopher Buck
