25mm chaingun does not engage infantry units?

OK, I may live with the fact that 120mm HEAT won't engage infantry units (RPG gunner, ATGM operators, MT-12 , SPG-9 and towed artillery) , but why 25mm chaingun won't engage infantry units? Any explanation for that?
Attached is a testing scenario/save file of M3 CFV in front of a target rich enviornment, and you can see from the log as well as ammunition summary sheet , M3 only use 7.62mm MMG to engage targets.

And here is another potential issue.
infantry weapons , HMG, autocannon ROF is too low.
In a 10 min engagment , each M3 CFV expend 9 bursts of 7.62mm.

I'll review this over the weekend and see why the 25mm and maybe other autocannons are not dealing with soft targets. Thanks for the test case.

I'm finding most IFV's to be acting strangely. Tried and gave up on Rude Awakening, but the M3's in that scenario love to shoot things with only their autocannons when they have tons of TOWs that could make short work of the BDMs or BTR-Robots.
TBH, autocannons have been pretty lackluster for quite a while. After this evening's session I swear the M3 gunners in this game never even qualified because shooting at infantry running over open ground (assault orders) at 500 meters should not be difficult. It doesn't help that the only indirect fire you really have available to you is the 107mm mortars which, if you're lucky, might reduce a single unit by one subunit even with LOS.
I will say it seems the M1A1's are more willing to use their MG's, so that's nice.
Edit: Went back and sure enough they haven't been shooting their 25mm M242; it was just the animation that is similar but it was the 7.62 M240 actually knocking infantry out. I'm guessing for the BMD's it was only shooting at the infantry or, strangely enough, maybe the carriers? I remember seeing the Soviets moving around loaded but my M3's attacking with the MG/AC combat animation before finally using a TOW after 2-3 failed attacks. I still stand by the mortars being pretty garbage

The IFV's ATGM has been hardcoded to attack light armored AFV at 3 hex, 1500m. Beyond that range it will use autocannon.

I have a JIRA in the system for us to review these cases of weapon selection versus target types. As I noted on Discord, there appears to be a tipping point based on pen/armor and range accuracy that is different enough between NATO and WP kits to cause this effect. I'm hoping we can track this down over the holidays and get a fix for the January update to make this better/more consistent.

We'll be reviewing, but the first Update that currently is in testing might address some of the problems with a combat logic fix for ground-to-ground combat.
