A recommendation to add quick orders for routes and waypoints once you right click on a unit so the player doesn't have to adjust the SOP for every movement.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Do note that there is a quick way to adjust the SOP for all movement waypoints together, using right mouse button, Adjust SOP, where you can make changes to individual SOP settings and select whether this applies to all movement orders, all non-movement orders, etc.
This can be done simulatenously for a group of units, with the ability to opt out for specific units, for example the HQ or artillery unit.

My preference for issuing orders and minimizing mouse clicks is to use group formation orders, followed by group SOP adjustments.

Absolutely, but it is still additional clicking when you want to give a movement order. You issue the type of movement (assault, hasty, deliberate), then manipulate SOP. It would be nice if we could 'cut out the middle man' and just issue the specific movement order.

The other problem is that MOVEMENT and WAYPOINTS seem to be mixed together in the SOP. I'm not sure what "IFV March" means when the unit arrives to its waypoint, especially when I want the unit to be IFV Stay and Defend. The SOP only lets me pick one; which is very confusing because the SOPs include movement and waypoint types (march is a movement order versus stay and defend as a waypoint order)

I agree mostly, but I'm finding that that specific approach only works when you have units doing the exact same task.

At the end of the day, I feel like the game requires too much player input and clicking. I want to focus on tactics and OODA and not issuing detailed orders for every chit on the map - and in some cases that is a LOT of detailed orders.

The Steel Beasts way - this works VERY well and I could see this being a much better solution for rapidly issuing orders in FC

The other feature worth noting is the ability to quickly assign new routes from an existing waypoint.

If you are moving a unit into an known with known enemy you can quickly issue a MARCH route and then have it switch to an ENGAGE route - all with a few clicks.

This is currently possible with FC but then requires SOP editing. It would be nice to see something more efficient.
