Automated fleet wait for its tankers, instead of going to its (nearer and with more fuel) home base!

Platform: Steam
Build version: started with v1.3.3.4 Beta + Expansion and all DLCs
Severity: Low
Annoyance factor: Medium
Saved game:
2nd Fleet, an automated attack fleet composed of derelict ships (except for its 2 tankers) just wiped a space creature in the OP338 system, which is near its home base at the Helu 3 mining station in the Helu system. It’s now waiting for its tankers. Here’s an overview of the situation:
The thing is that the 2 tankers have a total of 5,970 units of fuel, while the Helu 3 mining station has 6,237. And the fleet has plenty of fuel to get back to its home base. So waiting for the tankers is slower (after having been refilled by the tankers, they will go back to their home base anyway). And there’s more fuel at their home base than in the tankers.
Also, a dangerous location queued for investigation (Nurolak) is to the north-west of their home base, and 2nd Fleet is the fleet that will be assigned to the task by the automation (given the situation in-game). So by going back to their home base, they would also be closer to their next mission.
I’ve seen similar behaviors multiple times in this game.
