I mean if you want to make a ga-billion dollars all you gotta do is make this:

Am I gonna have to go to computer programming school and do it myself?

Looks like ASL and CC smashed together

I think CC and SP covered that pretty well

Ever play VASL?

It would probably be next to impossible to make an AI that could take advantage of all the rules and give a human a decent game without "cheating".

And to add the "non-ASL" stuff shown here would mean it would not *REALLY* be ASL.

Not sure who the millions are that would buy it.

I think it has to be either actual ASL and maybe using VASL, or it has to be something like Combat Leader.

There is only so much you can do to smash the two together.

Personally, if I could snap my fingers and make a great board game appear as a computer game, it would be Up Front.

I know card games can be done, I have seen the Magic The Gathering game.
I just want to be able to play Up Front against other people online now.

Using the computer you could make an Up Front like game that allowed a more defined "area perspective" to be used, and more dynamic card play relationships.

Up Front was WAY ahead of its time as a card game...

Yeah Up Front rules the roost for best definition of Fog of War of any design ever in my opinion.

And the way is soooooo open to take the basic concept and do so many other things with it too.

I think using the basic nature of what made Up Front what it is, could be employed for a very nice modern setting too.

Have you seen Hoplites, Paul? It's a freeware card wargame made by an Italian guy, whose name I forget. It's ancients rather than WW2 but is quite good fun and well worth the price :) .

Its already been done.

Avalon Hill and Atomic got together to make ASL for PC and instead came up with Close Combat 1.

Which is where your artwork came from.

I would never buy ASL for PC. It would be so boooooooring to play.

A tactical version of watching paint dry. Sorry, once I would have been a fan of the idea, but Bill Gates came along :)

This I already know. ;)

Personally I would like to see a PC Wargame that used the old ASL counters and maps. A game in which the PC regulated movement, los/lof, and regulated and resolved combat.
