Disappointing multiplayer ends

I know, maybe I am just venting.
So I think I did win my first multiplayer game. Conquered Germany, took Paris, bottled up the Axis on the Balkan, Norway, Italy and parts of France. I really wanted that winning screen.
But I cannot finish because my opponent finished the game.
I understand that sometimes it is tiring and demoralising to finish a losing game. On the other hand it would be great to finish that game against AI if the opponent gives up. Just be able to download the game and finish it as single player.
I really hope to be able to do that sometimes. Is there maybe a hack or workaround how that can be implemented?

They are supposed to send you the turn when they are finished. If they just quit the application it never sends the turn.

So, is there a way to finish a game against an AI if the human opponent is unwilling to continue?

I did not put that in the game no. Just something I never thought of.

Is that something that is possible to have in the next update? That would be awesome!

I'd have to think about how.

I believe that if a human player, whether playing in hotseat mode or any other game mode, could transfer control of their side to the AI, and likewise allow an AI-controlled side to be taken over by a human player, this would open the door to many additional possibilities.
Of course, this ultimately depends on the game engine and whether it is capable of supporting such functionality.
For example, if for any reason I am unable to continue one of my games, regardless of how well or poorly I am doing in it, I could simply agree with my opponent to hand my side over to the AI at a specific difficulty level chosen beforehand.
This would also allow games abandoned by players to continue until their conclusion, instead of ending prematurely because one side leaves the match.
Many players eventually find themselves alone in ongoing PBEM games due to opponents disappearing or losing interest, and this feature would allow those campaigns to be completed rather than abandoned.
I believe it would be a very useful quality-of-life feature for the community, especially in long campaigns .
