Just got the game and am going through the tutorial by "Gaming DoJo", which btw is excellent.
In part 1 he suggested I download version 1.8.1126b which I found and did download as told
in the download. However, game still shows the old Jul 20, 2009 version.
Not very computer savey and kinda old. How old you ask? I'll let you figure
it out...I was born one month before we landed on Omaha Beach.

So any help would be very much appreciated.

Probably you did not install the patch in the same folder where the game was installed.

Hey CDR, no expert here but I do know as Nikel said above, you must install the 26b right over the original 2009 version in the same directory. Welcome aboard!

It does install to the same folder but creates a sub folder called 'Beta2'. In that you should find a new exe called 'War in the Pacific AE Beta'. You need to run that.

They are working on a new beta patch call 28, thishas a few bugs so I'd stick to 26b.

Whatever one you use you will need to use some switches to get this old game to run on a modern compter with hitch. See the readme or look here https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 4&t=392927. You can simply copy the one in the post, it will work on most.
