Bab al Mandab Strait Community Scenario Pack

This seems like a pretty good scenario in Red Tide.

I have done all the CMO tutorials and watched a bunch of the Catcombe tutorials too.

But am having a hard time figuring out a strategy for this one. You are tasked with wrecking as much stuff as possible, yet there are a ton of SAMs, both mobile and fixed, protecting everything.

Doesn't seem like you can shoot your way through this one. The Strait is kind of narrow, so you're working in a tight space. Even at a low altitude you can't really sneak your way past all the SAMs that are in the game.

Wonder if someone has a strategy for tackling this one?

Thanks.

Michael

What scenario is that? I do not find it in the list of scenarios.

Oh, I'm sorry. It is in the Community Scenario Pack. I thought it was "Red Tide" because I mistakenly picked up that heading from my saved files.

The actual scenario is this: Bab al-Mandab Strait, Yemen, 2024

Sorry, and thanks for your response.

This scenario is considered Complexity 1 / Difficulty 1.

But I do not think it is.

Reading and launching the Rafales is risky because probably at least one will be shot down.

Getting points destroying Houthi stuff is a pain and very slow.

So a conservative approach with the SCALP and Exocet, and claiming victory when you only get an average result seems the way to go

And is pretty realistic considering what was done with the Houthis.

OK. Thanks for that information. I was thinking along the same lines. But I always think there’s some sort of secret sauce that everybody knows about that I don’t. Plainly, there are so many defensive installations here that a complete victory is almost unrealistic. As you can probably guess, I go for the ones that are green complexity and this one definitely wasn’t!

Thanks again for your help.

Michael.
