Editing Units VPs

Hi,
for me first scenario I wanted to create a rescue mission that places critical importance on the survival of the unit to be rescued. I haven't found this in the guides: Is there any way to modify the VP values of the unit from the scenario editor? Or should I need to go to the excels and docs and create or modify an existing unit and its VP manually?
Cheers

VPs for units are calculated in code and cannot be altered by the user. I can open a feature JIRA to explore adding a way to do that in the future. Also, the planned event scripting feature may be a way to do this when we get there. I do have an idea I need to test that might be a workaround, but it will be a few days before I can try it out. I will let you know if that works.

Editing units VPs could be useful also when some units are "unimportant," considering the situation.
For example, I'm working on a scenario where NATO must do the utmost to stop a major Soviet breakthrough. Both the Luftwaffe and the RAF are involved. The problem is: each shot-down plane costs NATO dearly. The result is "It is better NOT having heavy air support, so you don't lose a ton of "VPs!"—which is counterintuitive...

This is a wargame. Just because the equipment isn't important to the mission, doesn't mean the equipment isn't still important to the larger war effort.

Got it. I was thinking of adding a VP marker in the rescue zone, but it would be more interesting if we were to have an extraction and fallback operation to a safe location of a VIP Unit, since the time becomes critical and the tactics of both sides would change to dynamically adapt to the position of that unit. For the realism side, we all know how valuable are captured VIP or VIP POW in a conflict. And it would add a refreshing mode to the game as well, similar to "kill the head", but only one sided.
