F-15E, right outside 86th AFB (Romania). Aircraft refuses to RTB. Running 1776. Save attached.

Unassign them and order the RTB, seems like they're stuck on their last engagement logic/altitude. Doing that got them to land for me

Is this WAD, or something that needs to be investigated ?

I think it is a bug because requires micromanagement to solve.

It will also create a landing queue and many ACs will crash because they cannot land.

Tested in the old B1662 and will land perfectly.

I also get this reproducible fuse error in B1776 that seems unrelated. Though perhaps you already fixed it, new thread required?

I have observed similar behavior in v1.09 build 1776. In the attached save, Flight 7147 (two F-16s about 74 nm east of Miami FL) ignores manual RTB orders and reverts back to "On plotted Course". Ordering each aircraft to individually RTB did not fix the problem in my testing.

Tested Maverick scenario in previous versions.

The AC will not land in 1774/1776

It will land in 1662-1728

I've unassigned them numerous times and manually ordered the RTB, doesn't work.
