DL not in unit information screen

The manual (page 236) says about the unit information screen, "The DL 5 number is the detection level that the enemy has for that unit." I don't see any DL information on the unit information screens in the tutorial scenario. This is true even after running a turn to see if DL information appears.

This could be the fact that in the tutorial scenario you are playing as the Republican and I have seen no indication that the Nationalist player has any recon aircraft flying.

I see what you're saying..
But it seems that DL can be gained by LCUs (and not only by air recon). In a hex are Republican units and Nationalist units who have been battling for a couple of days, but the unit information screen doesn't have any DL information on my units (nor does it have the battles fought information which the manual says should exist).
Perhaps the unit information screen was changed from when the manual was written. The manual later says, "LCU DL’s ranges from 0% to 100% but is hidden in game."
My untutored perspective is that more information should be provided on DLs on enemy units and on your own units. After all, when your LCU recon units (such a cavalry) report in after returning, they can give an indication about how good of a look they got of the enemy: "We saw them in the open and it looks like they have..." vs "We got only a poor look at the enemy." In the game, it appears the commanders never get this sort of information.

You need to have "recon" devices in your units to gather that information, those are your scouts. Cavalry does not necessarily perform that function. The picture below has the necessary recon information in the pink area. If you click on the actual devices, you can see if they are recon devices or whatever purpose the devices have.
