F (follow unit) movement command change lead movement type order.

On day 07-07-36 I gave a unit moving on foot order to attack the hex to his SW, as I wasn’t sure if it would make it in one day, I gave follow command to the armored train I wanted to go with him. So the order “I thought” I had given was something like this.

- F command changing lead unit movement type01.jpg (760.49 KiB) Viewed 161 times
But when selecting the infantry LCU and pushing the F key on the armored train the result was this:

- F command changing lead unit movement type02.jpg (768.44 KiB) Viewed 161 times
I only realized when next day I saw this:

- F command changing lead unit movement type03.jpg (771.11 KiB) Viewed 161 times
Not sure if it is wai/wad but all I wanted is that the infantry LCU moved on foot as fast as they would want to do, and the armored train wait for the infantry to arrive then follow them. Dunno if that’s doable.
It is not a big problem cause I think there aren’t many units with railroad movement in the scenario that could change the movement type of the lead unit but still.. dunno if that’s a bug and the armored train shouldn’t change the movement type of his lead unit.

"F"?
Why do I feel like playing this game is like ordering at In & Out, there is an intentionally secret menu kept from the public.

It should work the way that you want it to move but the infantry was somehow in strategic move mode.
As a note, if there is enough movement points left over, the units will act like they are in combat mode and not move mode when they reach their destination.

No, the unit was as i show in the first screenshot, it changed to what second screenshot shows after giving the F order to the armored train. Thats what i said in the post, i thougth i had given one order and the result was other. And i only realiced next turn ( i didnt open the infantry info screen panel after give the F order to check his movement).

what do you refer to with this? the infantry unit with move / deliverated attack if he had had enough movement points? or to the armored train with strategic move/defend?.. or to both? i was expecting both to be in combat if the infantry had had movement points enougth to reach the next hex in one turn ( the armored train i was sure it was going to be there).

Or if the unit in Move mode had no orders, it will start to "dig in" if it was in the field. Units will attack shift to combat mode before they attack if they have enough points left.
