You're right, it's an España class (Espana for the base data).
Fixing for 3rd patch. The 2nd one is already very close.

It doesn't look "very close" for the just released game.

2-3 weeks or so, no more.
Anyway, I have another question that also about Jaime I but not only.
17 July 1936 in Santander a captain Julio Iglesias Abelairo was replaced by a captain Joaquín García del Valle. The last was removed from the command by the ship crew on 20 July. As I understand both captains was executed later. And its not a single case for SCW events.
The game has a parameter for Leaders - "Start date". Maybe need to add "End date" too? Some wargames have it.

At the beginning, the officers and many ships in the main campaign are historical, but later the player/AI can give them a different fate. The Baleares won't sink on the historical date, nor many historical officers will disappear the first week... From July 17th onwards, their future is in the player's hands.

I did it on purpose.
I wanted to distinguish between the nationalist and republican Espana.
Because the ships were quite different (during the uprising) and their further development was completely separate.
I also designated the Baleares as the Baleares class and the Canarias as the Canarias class. Even though they should be one class...
If anyone mind, they can rename it.
It didn't come from my ignorance.
As for naval officers, my colleague explained it well.

If it was a decision made by my colleague, then I'll stick with it. His explanation sounds reasonable for the gameplay.

As I understand, the game editor allows to have ship classes with same name for different sides. So its not a problem (technically).
The military coup and the civil war can't change the ship class. Its not a ship name change like "Alfonso XIII" in 1931 was renamed to "España".

The armament probably was different or would be different
