Troops Won't Unload

I am doing the BI tutorial and landing troops at Santa Eurlaria. In order to coordinate the landings, I have instructed 3 different task forces (1 from Barca, one from Valencia and one from Mahon to move two grids east of the target, which they do. To keep them from leaving, I set remain on station and do not unload.
However, on the next turn, I give them all Santa Eurlaria as the target, set unload cargo and retirement allowed and the ships will not unload. It says they are landing, but then they just leave with the ships still fully loaded. I have tried the following:
1. set the unload Cargo/Troops swithc on the right side of the to on, no impact
2. tried remain on station, no impact
I have played this scenario before and simply had the 3 TF set direction to Santa Eularia and all landed, but at different times, which I want to avoid as I want to coordinate the landings. What am I doing wrong? Very frustrated.

If you are invading then the TF must be an amphibious TF.

All three are listed as amphibious.

I never had that problem so the only thing that I can suggest is try making new TFs out of the old ones, maybe even combine them into one new TF.

it looks like the ships are running away from enemy task force. That italian cruiser is reacting all over the place.

That would do it if the threat tolerance is not set to absolute.

Set to absolute. FWIW, if anyone plays my save, you will see that I actually get 3 "troops landing" popup messages, but at the end of the turn, none are on the beach.

Yea, I think we're in "code" territory now and need more expertise on the matter.
I unloaded the troops and reloaded them.
I disbanded the TF and reformed them.
Nothing works in getting the troops to amphibious land. They seem to arrive alright at the designated location, just refuse to jump off the ship.

What about the option in Advanced Prefs? "Amph. Landing - Standart/Detailed.

I had it set to standard. Just set my save to detailed and the troops landed! Thanks for that suggestion but it does sound like a bug.

I am looking into this right now. Should soon have some answer.
The destination of all 3 TF is an ocean hex. You cannot unload into the ocean.
You must pick a hex with land in it. Coastal for example.

FYI just tried this with latest patch and bug still exists and in repeatable. Simply have standard amphib set in advanced settings and set your invasion task forces 3 hexes east of Santa Eularia. Then, after your forces have marshalled up, set your new destination as Santa Eularia. Ships act like they land (with popup signifying so) but don't actually unload any troops and then immediately head back to their home port. A workaround is setting the amphib to detailed as you change your target to Santa Eularia and the troops will be unloaded as desired.

EDIT: The amphibious rules in Preferences are somehow mixed up. I will have Bill repair that.
Standard is the advanced model, while detailed is the simple model.
Simple is what WIS should use as no landing barges are defined for ships or nations.

Well that was easy. Thanks Alessandro!
