In the summer of 1918 the Austro-Hungarian fleet
under admiral Horthy planned the greatest raid
ever on the Otranto barrage. The light cruisers
were to attack the barrage, supported by the
Austrian battle fllet to the north to take care of any
pursuit.
During the approach, the Austrian dreadnought
Szent Istvan was attacked and sunk by Italian
MTBs, and the operation was called off.
This scenario assumes that the attack was a
failure, and the MTBs instead reported the
Austrians, and the Italian battlefleet is ready for
them. The ensuing battle will decide mastery of
the Adriatic.
