[FIXED] B1825.11 A10 Strafing gun, descending too low

A test trying to automatically engage a ship with the A10 gun.
However the AC will descend too low to 30 m where is unable to do it. If you manually change the altitude to 300 m, it will hit the ship.

I opened a very similar issue a while ago (
here ) and a proposal derived therefrom (
here ).
A simpler solution would be, for example, to offer an additional WRA option for the desired drop height and velocity, instead of dedicated attack profiles. This would not only benefit ground attacks, but also allow BVR air-to-air weapons to gain a thin air layer and a favorable initial velocity from the outset.

Not sure it is a different problem and requires a different thread or if it was reported before.
Cannot attack automatically a surfaced submarine, even though you change manually the altitude.

It is related with this thread.

Very strange, if I add torpedos to the A-10, it will attack the surfaced sub. But only when the torpedo disappears.
The previous bug is the same, will not attack automatically because it descends too low.

Looked into this now.
The fundamental problem was not that the A-10 was descending too low, but that the altitude reduction really gutted the gun's effective downrange. The "reduce downrange with reduced altitude" was originally written for unguided bombs (and still works well for them), but did not handle "powered" unguided munitions (gun rounds, rockets etc.) well.
This has been now rectified, and such weapons suffer a much milder downrange reduction even at very low altitudes. (These weapons are essentially loft/toss-fired, either physically pitching up the airframe or training their guns/launchers up, to deliver them at much more practical ranges even from very low altitude.)
Fixed for the next update.

SS.gif.
This is an unrelated issue, the surfaced submarine was not correctly handled as a "surface contact". This has also now been fixed.
