can't use edit mode

First hello to everyone. I played WIR when it first came out on my first computer and loved it! It's been a few years since I played it and am glad I found this forum and am amazed at the urgrades. Really want to play it again and tinker with all I can now do.

Here's my problem though. Seems I can play ver3.3- - - BUT I can't use the Scenario Edit function. If I try to do down a few layers in a Panzer Division (for example, trying to (x)edit the tanks in a panzer btn of a division), I get an "insufficient memory" message.

I have an e-machine desktop with 64mb memory. Tried the old DOS command of "mem" to find out that I have 564k of memory available for this DOS based game. Any suggestions on how I can use the edit to tinker.

I already found out from trying and on the forum's history that my laptop (compaq) won't run WIR - text is all messed up! So the desktop is my only option. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
regards, Ed

Try dissableing some programs that may be taking up memory resources on your machine. I had the same problem on my Gateway. When I dissabled Gateway Go-Back (some kind of protection program supplied by Gateway) all editor functions worked fine. Hope this helps, happy hunting!! ;) ;)
