Amphibious operations feedback

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Amphibious operations feedback

Post by Nicals »

I'm learning this game, reading the manual while playing again and again the Husky Introductory Scenario.
I'm starting to understand how it work and feel more and more ready to start a longer campaign.
There is just this last one thing that bothers me.

I know I can have some feedbacks on the battles that occured (F11). This key allows me to have a list of all battles I initiated this turn or that were initiated by the opponent on its last turn.
But it cannot display what happens after an amphibious operation took place.
It seems that I can only know what is happening during the turn resolution phase.
Is that true ? Can't I bring back those amphibious operation battle details on the next turn ?

Another battle related question: the battle resolution screen gives a lot of details about who died and who didn't at the end of the battle.
But I'm struggling to find information on how the battle went.
I can see my raw CV was 140 and reduced to 45 for exemple, but couldn't find any information on why it did so.
I feel this lack of information prevents me from analyzing my mistakes and learning from them.
Is there any way to analyze a battle to understand why we loose instead of how we lost ?
