Question about Wintergewitter and Stalingrad to Kharkov and other toaw 3.0 originated scenarios

The scale for both is exactly what I'm looking for, but unfortunately, these scenarios are originally from the TOAW 3.1 and 3.0 versions. The TOAW update changelogs mention that Wintergewitter was updated, but changelog don't specify exactly what was changed. Can I play these using the features introduced in Toaw 3.4 , TOAW IV —such as the new supply rules, new bridge rules, and snow/mud rules—or should I strictly stick to the TOAW 3.0 ruleset? Both are relatively long scenarios, so I wanted to get some advice on which optional rules I should choose.

As these scenarios were tested under 3.0 i would recommend not to use new rules and features. Wintergewitter is a fine scneario and really deserves an update. Dont use the new supply rules in Wintergewitter as the supply level in the Stalingrad pocket is supposed to work with the old supply rules. If you use the new supply rules the levels will be too high.

right, that makes sense why i should go with old supply rules, i think going fully with toaw 3.0 rules will guarantee things, thank you.

new supply rules
No.
new bridge rules
Yes. I don't think this would ever not be used. Did anybody design a scenario on purpose where there were bridges where there weren't supposed to be?
snow/mud rules
No.

Don't forget Variable Initiative !

One thing that may not be clear or was never clearly explained about IV is that some things were introduced in order to give scenario designers more flexibility in simulating things. Not all things were intended to be automatically turned ON for playing all scenarios. New Turn Order and New Supply rules are at the top of the list for not using unless a scenario was designed with or redesigned with them. Also confusing about IV is the term 'updated scenario'. A pre-IV scenario can be opened in the editor and saved and is then referred to as being 'updated'. However, some pre-IV scenarios were 'updated' by the scenario designers to incorporate some or all of IV's features [in reality a redesign]. These are two vastly different scopes of work and mean two different things but there is no way for most players to know which applies to each scenario. A statement seen in a scenario briefing such as 'Updated for TOAW IV' doesn't really tell us anything.

This is probably one of the contributing reasons to the firing of the developer and our [community] search for a new one.
