This is the second of two videos from April 15th live stream. We fired up East Front and started the High Price for Silk scenario. This is a larger scenario with a fairly low turn count. We are playing as the Germans and will be assaulting the city of Mogilev on the Dnepr River in 1941. This is an infantry fight where we have to break into the city, seizing it and capturing the divisions worth of Russians that are surrounded in the city. This will be a hell of a fight indeed.

After a brief discussion we fired up the Campaign Series East Front scenario High Price for Silk that is available in the 2.05 UPDATE available at matrixgames.com. We are the opening phase of the battle as the Germans, slowly trying to break into the outer defences of the city of Mogilev. There are a lot of Russians in there and we are suffering some casualties, but I show you in a deliberate fashion how to slowly reduce a city. It's messy, it's bloody, but it's a good challenging bit of fun!

We returned to the Campaign Series East Front game and continued our assault into Mogilev in the High Price for Silk scenario. Our German infantry divisions are scrapping for each metre as we advance into the suburbs. It's a nasty fight with lots of casualties, but we're making excellent progress as we advance towards the city proper. Our river crossing is slowly expanding, but the Russians are doing everything they can to keep pushing and assaulting our forces to contain the bridgehead. It's a fun and challenging scenario though!

Now here's a violence fight indeed. Every hex has blood spilling on it. Every advance is met with a barrage of fire from the Russian defenders. We continue the advance into the outskirts of Mogilev against the determined Russian resistance. I decided to pull the Stug IIIs a bit closer to action to see if they can help turn the tide, especially as I have noticed that the victory locations are defended with bunkers on top of all the Russians swarming around the city. We're pushing in the center of the city, but it's a messy affair and the Russians counterattack in any weak spot. A high price for silk indeed....

The fighting is getting intense with the causalities mounting. We are advancing 250 metres at a time into the outskirts of the city while there is heavy fighting happening in the deep city center. The Russians are still attempting to counter attack in various locations as I advance, which is holding up the advance in some sectors. On the bright side, this is an excellent display out of how to whittle down defences and overwhelm a defender. Is it easy? No. Is it fun? Hell YES!
