Display problem

Hey i experienced some strange behavior with the game when i connected 2nd monitor to my PC...

Those are the settings i have:

-f -altFont -archive -dd_sw -deepColor -pxf1920 -pyf1080 -fixedArt -skipVideo -multiaudio -SingleCpuOrders -cpu3

Before connecting the 2nd monitor when i played the game i had to minimalize all other applications i had opened so that when i started the game i could only see the desktop. If i didn't do that when i tried to play WITP the screen sometimes blinked and opened the other apps i had overlaying the desktop.

When i connected the 2nd monitor when i moved the cursor in WITP application it dissapears and istead a square area of my desktop shows up.
When i switched to Windowed mode i can't play becouse the taskbar at the bottom overlaps part of the game screen and when the replay runs i can's speed it up becouse when i try to click on exit button it relocates up and down with the entire animation screen.

Can some one guide me how to fix that?

Which version of Windows are you using? I use Win 10 and can easily move the taskbar to the right side of my screen so it does not interfere with all the clicking I have to do on base icons like LCUs or Industries. I haven't figured out how to do it in Win 11 because it doesn't give me that option even though a search for instructions says I can do that.

The patch on your monitor looks like a transparency problem. Set your desktop to no transparency. I always play with minimal other apps running and in Win 10 I have no problem using ALT+TAB to change to the desktop or other open apps.

PS - I don't do dual monitors but I think you might need to right click on your desktop and go into your video settings to tell the computer about the other monitor. Others here have done dual monitors so they can tell you more.

Right i checked and transparency was set on off so thats not it... the effect happens with 0 other apps runing.

As for Windows i have Win11...

Ok the AI resolved the issue it turned out i just needed to delete -dd_sw and now it works fine... The scrolling become a little slower but i can live with it...

You can adjust scroll rate in preferences. I use 1 and get smooth and fast scrolling. The other things that slow down scrolling are the overlays on the map- things like hex details (F6), air and TF range circles, sub/ship patrol points, air search wedges, etc. With each shift of one hex the video has to redraw all that info on the map. You can turn on each overlay as you need it during turn setup but you should turn it off again once you have made your decisions.
