Trade route priority

In the first years of the war it is quite common for the UK player to have its merchant marine maxed out. If the number of UK merchants dips below 150 something does not get delivered.

How does the game prioritise deliveries? If there is lend lease, production and oil - what gets delivered first and what last?

I have my oil reserve topped out, so I would prefer if oil does not get delivered at the moment and lend lease should have absolute priority. So how does it work?

(edit: I know that I can switch off trade routes. If I switch off the Persian Gulf route (I can live without the captured Persian oil fields) then the far east production also does not get delivered? )

I believe it just scans the map without priority. It can't possibly guess what you want to keep and not keep. The best way is to shut off convoys of oil to get more production.

Ok, so three questions:

1. If I shut off Arabian Sea convoy then only oil is affected? (Persian and Iraqi oil if taken) Far east production takes another route?

2. If all convoys are active but there is not enough MM what gets delivered? Is it proportional or random or there is a priority?

3. If a MM is sunk the cargo is lost I assume - but is it random what cargo is lost?

+1 note: I send 1 oil to Canada when I have sub hunters in the North Atlantic, because then my ships have 2 shots at the subs while risking only 1 MM the second time - assuming you cant lose more MM than you are sending)

#1 Correct since there is only oil coming through there.

#2 I don't remember if it did it by percentage available or per lane if you were short were some lanes wouldn't make it. I'd have to dive into the code which would take a while.

#3 It is lost and it is random in the lane it is traveling

#4 Correct.
