Clarification on combat calculation vs. Riots/Strikes/Protesters

It doesn't trigger a visible combat simulation. I can see the reported losses on both sides, and I know that the number of our troops present in the city, as well as relevant buildings like Police Stations, have an impact.

However, I'm unclear on whether the specific combat stats and equipment of the garrisoned units matter in this calculation. For example: is a soldier armed with a bazooka treated the same as a soldier with a machine gun?

Hitpoints definitely help prevent subunits from getting killed in these events, but I am not sure any other stats have an impact.

I've wondered this too. It's why I avoid positioning expensive equipment (artillery, armor, etc...) in restless cities.

I once lost some GR equipment before I realized this. But more info would be better - I'm assuming MGs > RPGs, but I do not know if that is true.
