Trying to learn this game

If I have a sonar contact, without surfacing to periscope depth, how do you confirm a target and fire a torpedo at it ?

Am proficient in finding a target using ESM but to do so I need to be at periscope depth

This is quite a deep topic and not easy to sum up in a forum post.

I'd suggest looking at Jiveturkey (actually I think the channel now is called Sonar & Steel), FPSchazly or smartwargames on youtube - they all show their process for completing such a task as kind of tutorials.

Alternatively, if you join the discord, you may be able to get help in realtime as you're doing your mission. Actually on discord I can probably share my screen and show you my way of doing it interactively.
