Was trying to remake the Battle of Latakia to more align with the Boats of Cherbourg book. A year or so ago, when I ran this multiple times, The Styx never hit any Saars. I have been running this multi times over the last day with 1877. Tried it with multiple databases with no difference.

What I see is the Saar ECM is very ineffective. Thats counter to real life and how this scenario ran at least a year ago and all prior versions. Also note that chaff never seems to fire. In real life, it was very effective at seducing the Styx. Right now, in 1877, the Saars are almost wiped out. Again, contrary to real life and older version.

I have included a save just before Saar boats are attacked and then a save right after the attack so you can see the weapon end game.

Here is the weapon end game and a few other messages from a simple Saar vs Osa in 1973. You can see the Saar ECM fails and chaff never fires.


Just double checked and watched closely. The Saar never expends a single chaff. And I added generic chaff also just to see if its a weapon-specific issue or a general issue with chaff in at least the CWDB.

This is weird because I can't reproduce this with other units

An Italian Audace destroyer with a different chaff system.

Works in B1868, but does not in B1877.

1868 is the latest build with working chaff. Just confirmed. Between this and the sonobouy issue, will keep 1868 in my Matrix build and leave Steam at 1877.

This has been fixed for the next update.

1892 fixed it. Ran beautifully.
