I only just now saw that Start Date doesn't go further than 1943, is it possible to push it to 1945 somehow?

Yes, you can do that. In the install directory:

which will be this for steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\WEGO World War II Stalingrad

or this for Matrix/Slitherine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Stalingrad

There's a directory called data and in that you can change a lot of things that aren't directly changable via the editor.
So in there there's a "years.csv" file. Just update that and add whatever years you want.

There's a README file in that dir which will explain what the other data files do. You can change the CRTs, the battle intensity, the readines mods, TOEs (number of tanks in a battalion etc).

NOTE that changes to these files only kick in when a scenario is loaded into the Editor. So if you change the CRT for example, existing scenarios will have the CRT that they were created with...otherwise people could cheat
