The future of the operational strategy sim

This game is older than the century now, with even TOAW 4 approaching the 10-year mark. Out of curiosity, what does the future for this game look like? What is required? Do you think it will survive? I get the weird feeling that maybe if it doesn't fade into obscurity, TOAW could morph into some entirely new game. Without getting into a myriad of requests for this dreamware, I'm okay with that, to the extent it will take on the TOAW mission.

That says nothing about an open beta. That is a closed one for registered testers only.

An open beta is a pre-release version of software or a game that is available to anyone who wants to participate, allowing widespread testing and feedback before the official launch.
Definition and Purpose:
An open beta, also called a public beta, is a stage in software or game development where the product is made available to the general public for testing. Unlike a closed beta, which restricts access to selected users, an open beta allows anyone interested to download, use, and provide feedback on the product.
