Supply and surrounding

I seriously don’t get it.

I had a 10,000-strong Republican force surrounded in the mountains. They were 3–4 hexes away from any other Republican force. They were not in a town. To make sure they were cut off, I put a strong force in every single hex surrounding them.

For 10 days, their supply level did not drop at all. Neither did their readiness or anything else. Needless to say, there was no Republican air power left.

How do units draw supplies if they are so far away in the mountains? Surrounded?

They shouldn't if surrounded. I've seen units starve in that situation

Can you post a screenshot? Hit the W key before you post to show hexside control. This would help alot to see what's going on.
