What is the main difference in the games and which do you prefer and why???

From what I am told, which makes this only an observation, some of the differences are in artillery ie you can't pound a location and watch the damage, it isn't reported.
It is also designed with human vs human in mind I believe, although human vs the AI remains.

eniced: I find both versions are equally enticing. If I was to play pbem I would go for I-I 2 I-I, otherwise against the AI both are fine, as long as you play the scenarios, campaigns etc. designed for that version. As to the differences its a matter of (authors) oob interpretations and equiptment cost. If you have the room put them BOTH in and enjoy the finest of each version. Double your pleasure, double your fun.
