PROLOGUE

The ancient colony ship SRNS New Hope is restored and dispatched toward the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Within its vast holds sleep one million refugees, guarded by the Republic’s legendary Eighth Fleet, veterans of the first Shakturi assault and among the few human formations ever to defeat the enemy in open battle.
Their mission is not to win the war.
It is to survive it.
