Uncommon Valor Install Asked for 2nd Disk

The Autoplay doesn't work for my Uncommon Valor install, so I'm using the method described on page 4 pf the Players Guide.
The install loads about half the game and then asks me for a "2nd disk" to complete the install. there is no 2nd disk so I'm stuck.
I used all the defaults in the setup program.
I also tried my PC at work (a Dell) and it loaded perfectly - so it's not a bad disk. Appears to be something with my system.
I'm running Windows ME on a Pentium III 866. It's Uncommon Valor version 2.0.
Any ideas on how to make this work? Looks like a cool game! Thanks.

IS it a laptop?

IS it a DVD-CD writer combo drive?

Do you have more than one CD/DVD drive?

I'm having this issue as well - I'm installing on a Dell, Pentium III, Windows 98. There are 2 CD drives, 1 CD-ROM and 1 rewritable drive. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Matrix sucks club..

I keep on getting this 2nd disk nonsense also with OPERATION BARBAROSSA (Matrix/JustFlight) and this is with a *high end* system, there is NO problem on my end. I've never encountered this absurdity with any CD before. I even got a 2nd/replacement disk$$$ with the same problem. Thing is these are garbage products and we are finding this out. What gets me the most is the ABSOLUTELY NON-EXISTENT product support by Matrix Games and the Just Flight tards. I will never, ever buy anything from Matrix again, I learned my lesson!!!

Hi, Paul:
I have a regular desktop PC, one regular CDROM drive, one RW drive. Like I said, the game CDROM seems OK because it works on my PC at work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try cleaning the CD or using one of those CD polishers. IT may have a small defect that the CD at work can get through, but the others can't. Though its surprising that both drives would not work.

You can try disconnecting one driver or the other, that's a long shot though.

I also purchase korsun pocket to run on Windows me. I got the same request for a second disk. This is obviously a bug. That Matrix would roll out a game with such an obvious defect is inexcusable. I'm an attorney. I intend to file an unfair business practice lawsuit given the others having problems and the lack of support. Matrix needs to be punished

Hi

Anyone with a second disk error will only come from two things.

A) CD Bad.

B) Or a possible copy protection issue.

Now the best way to test for either is to try the CD on another machine and see if it works. If you get the same results on another PC then the CD might be bad and needs replacing. Let me say this that in all the games we sold we only had less then 30 such issues with a bad CD and the copy protection is even less.

If the CD does seem bad please return it and request a new one from the retailer you purchased it from.

Of course please let us know your Operation System, memory and the brand of CD and model of CD you own and we will look into your problem.

David

Thats a good idea just get a lawsuit going. Maybe you should worry about things like how your are going to milk your clients for that last dime. You and all the other low rent Lawers give the rest a bad name.
