I currently have turn cycle set to 2 and I want to know how to change it as it seem like the turn cycle option in the settings doesn't impact an already existing save

It might depend on the sort of opponent you have. Playing against the AI you can change it easily, but apparently in a PBEM game the Japanese player needs to add -cd to the command line switches. Having the -cd added should then enable the option for changing the turn number in a PBEM game in the preferences window.

Are you using the switch in the main menu game options screen or the one in preferences?
