Hi,
Are you sure that the stock scenario 1 is using the "extended map"?
AFAIK all official stock scenarios (01 - 22) use the "standard map" (or in case of the v1127 beta, the short-lived "new map").
AB's website only contains "updated official scenarios" (101 - 104) to be used with the official standard map or with his updated standard map version.
What is known as the "extended map" has been created for the legendary "DaBabes" series of scenario mods.
It's three main versions "DaBabes lite", "DaBigBabes" and "DaIronBabes" came in three variants, the "A" variants using the standard map and the "B" and "C" variants using a specific "extended" map.
The "DaBabes" website has disappeared, but can still be accessed via the "Wayback machine":

The "B" and "C" variants should still be playable with AB's new extended maps.
Some other scenario mods incluing DaBabes spin-offs also use the extended map.
Over time, new map mods have appeared with both standard and extended versions as well, notably Chemkid's "Topo" and "Yamato Damashii" maps and MakeeLearn's "Bellum Pacifica" maps which IIRC are based on CHemkid's map but got heavily modded.
However, you will need to check the scenario mods yourself to see if they use standard or extended map or get advice from others, because I can only comment on my own mod.
My "Bottlenecks" mod is a spin-off of "DaBigBabes C" and is using the extended map.
Originally I have opted to use the "Kamikaze Bellum Pacifica v
2" map mod with my own modifications on top, the latest mod update also provides a modified version of the "Kamikaze Bellum Pacifica v3" map mod.
Bottlenecks can be played with AB's extended maps which are 99.9% compatible.
For some reason, AB's map mod does not include my correction for
Saumlaki (which I have included in my "Bellum Pacifica 3" modification) - but this is a minor discrepancy.
I take a little pride in the fact that AB's latest map mods and even the latest v1128 Beta have actually incorporated a number of my scenario and map modifications that I have done for Bottlenecks.
So things come full circle in a certain way - this is the beauty of a modding community which is based on sharing.
