Scenario Supply Question

I am wanting to create supply points that the enemy cannot take. I was wanting to use exclusion zones, but was told this won't work. I then heard about using distant supply points that are cut off from access to the map, but somehow can deliver the supplies. I have run tests on this and only when there is no obstacle the supply can run, but when a barrier is placed, the supply does not move.

Is it possible to create these distant supply points that are protected at a distance?

Here's how I did it for my Soviet Union 1941 scenario:

Thanks for showing that Curtis. It looks like the alpine serve as impassible while the rail line can still deliver supply. If I am off, let me know.

Do you know, then, if transportation even matters when it comes to supply? In my tests is seems not to matter how much transport is involved, the units are in supply and revcover at the same rate regardless.

Supply transport is abstracted in TOAW. One thing that can matter are Supply Squads, if the designer included them.
